Review on πŸƒ Polar M200: Advanced GPS Running Watch with Wrist-Based Heart Rate Monitoring by Christopher Yap

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not working after <1 year, incorrect pairing.

I like Polar. I have an H7 chest strap that fits and works great with the Polar Beat app on my phone. I love it! However, the M200 watch has some disadvantages. My needs were simple. I wanted the H7 for the accuracy and a watch that I could use to check my heart rate while exercising without pulling out my phone. just right? The problem is I can't get this watch to read data from my H7 chest strap! It tells me it's pairing but still trying to read my heart rate from the M200 wrist sensor (see below). Another issue is that prior to purchasing the H7 chest strap, I relied solely on the M200 for heart rate monitoring. Its lower accuracy suited me until I bought the H7. However, in less than a year, the wrist heart rate measurement stopped working completely. It was useless except as a crappy chronometer. That's when I bought the H7 chest strap, only to be surprised by the M200's apparent inability to connect properly and read my HR from the H7!Lame. Skip that watch and buy the H7 chest strap for your phone. I haven't tried more expensive watches and I don't intend to. They could work better, but since this watch had *a function*, I don't trust polar watches at all.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Communication with seller
