I started mountain biking at night, both on roads and trails. I bought these string lights because it gets pretty dark on the trails. Both lamps are quite easy to install and operate. I don't know how long they will last because I drove 3 hours and they were still driving. Walking down the trail, I noticed that I needed two light focus areas, one close to me to see rocks and roots, and one far ahead to see if I needed to shift for the upcoming climb or descent. So I bought a second set! The tail light is very useful for the road. The headlight has high beam, low beam and turn signals. The rear light has a red permanent light and a red flashing light. You'll have to remove them from the mounts to charge them, but that's pretty easy.
