I needed to connect 1" copper tubing to a water pump with a 1" threaded inlet. This plug worked. No issues with leaks have been reported in some previous reviews. Aligning the two halves of the joint is critical. One thing to worry about is that the mating surfaces of the joint are not flat as is the case with many joints that use an O-ring. The seal is metal to metal and requires a minimum of 1/4 inch clearance between the copper tubing and the device that is connected to the threaded half to allow the two connection halves to separate. Therefore, this compound may not be suitable for use in tight, confined spaces.
