Stainless steel on all water contact and heating surfaces (no plastic, Teflon). Wooden handle, brass rivets. It seems to me that everything is fine, as far as I understand. For those worried about a hot pen, try not to heat the pen. It only gets hot when it's on a large burner where the heat can radiate up to it. Just like all little pots or pans, you know?
