I have an old monitor that I use with my PC, it has DVI and VGA inputs. My computer uses HDMI to DVI and I just received this cable for use with my new MacBook from a Thunderbolt USB hub with HDMI so I can now use the monitor with both devices and switch inputs with the push of a button. .The video quality is much better than I expected from analogue, I can hardly tell the difference as long as both ends are in good condition. The top rows of pixels are a bit shaky, but that's about it. Highly recommended if you have a VGA monitor!
