The smell has a slight hint of beef. Otherwise a great source of collagen.

I expected it to be similar to other collagen powders and products I've tried. It turns out there are differences. These differences appear to be due to it not being as sophisticated as other products I use. I guess I could guess since it's called "bone broth protein" and not "collagen". It looks browner than collagen (which is usually colorless) and has a slightly fleshy odor, which I would describe. After trying a few tiny grains, I thought I would feel a slight saltiness. When I first tried it I dissolved it in warm water to see if it had a meaty taste when dissolved and to be honest it doesn't, at least not to me. While it dissolved nicely in hot water with some miso paste as a warm, savory drink, I think most people could get away with using it in your smoothies as a purer form of collagen if you drank enough of the other flavored components such as: B. fruit, cocoa powder, ginger, vanilla, etc. The smell doesn't overwhelm me, but those who are very sensitive to the smell of meat can use a more purified collagen product instead. I love what collagen does for my skin and hair and it definitely has a calming effect on my stomach so I like to add it to my coffee to counteract the stomach irritation that coffee gives me. To me, this product is fine for sweet or savory applications, but maybe slightly better for savory applications for those with sensitive tastes.
