Not expedient.

10 gauge wire is good, real copper and will carry 40 amps continuously with no problem. On the other hand, the fuse holder gets a bit warm even at 25-30 amps. If you need a 40 amp circuit this is not for you. I use this in a test setup to test the capacity of LiFePO4 batteries. They get dangerously hot at 35 amps, overheat at 30 amps, and work well at 20-25 amps. you have been warned
