I believe water can pass through this filter faster than others but filling the jug is a real pain. Most jugs have a reservoir at the top which you fill and the water can slowly flow through the filter . It doesn't have a reservoir, you basically pour water straight into the filter, which can't process the water as fast as it flows out of the faucet. So basically you have to sit there and hold it under the faucet. And you really have to look at that. I figured it would be wiser if I put it in a running sink and return to a full pitcher. But I came back and found that the water isn't going through the filter fast enough, pooling at the top and eventually running into the jug, kind of defeating the purpose. It's like a regular jug without a filter sounds good, but in practice it just doesn't work as smoothly as it should, making the more traditional filter jug with a reservoir a much better option.
