Review on MIG 205 Welding Machine Gasless Voltage by Brandon Vox

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Well built, attractive 200 amp welder, great price, great customer service. .

With an ever increasing number of cheap welders flooding the market, it's nice to see a machine with advanced features and good build quality. The Yeswelder Mig-205DS is an attractive, well-built welder with a very strong metal body and advanced synergic circuitry. I'm not sure how they can offer so many welders for $369. As with most offshore welders, the instructions are fairly vague, forcing you quite a bit to use trial and error. There is also no settings table for the welding machine. I will verify the synergic settings using the settings table I made using the Miller, Lincoln, and Harbor Freight welder settings. The duty cycle is excellent when it's right. 60% at 200 amps is identical to my 350-400lb old Millermatic 200. This seems to be Yeswelder's first welding project, however they have been selling helmets and other welding equipment for a while. As always, my welder came promptly from Revain. The outer packaging was in good condition. However, the box with the welder had obviously been opened at some point. It has some damage. When I unpacked the splicer I noticed some minor damage to the case and the cable access door was sticking and binding. When I plugged it in, I noticed that the control panel reads 8.8.8 and all the green LEDs are lit. There was no control over the welder. Normally I would just send it back to Revane, but I wanted to see what Yesvelder did. Yeswelder responded immediately and asked a few questions. They offered an immediate replacement but I asked if they could send a replacement part and have me fix it without voiding the warranty. They agreed and immediately sent the new panel via DHL. It arrived within 5 days. When I removed the thick metal case, I found that the connector to the control panel was barely connected. I plugged it back in and tested the welder. It worked great. The welder actually makes some good welds based on non-surgical settings. Turns out it only shows volts and amps. It's a bit awkward because I'm used to seeing volts and wire speed. I have to play with it to understand everything. I did not use the MIG torch that came with the welder because I have a 4m 250A torch that I bought for my Hitbox Mig200A. I am giving this welder to a family member along with a new Yeswelder MiG-205DS gun. Both welding machines have an excellent connection based on the European model. The reel included in the kit is designed for 0.030 and 0.035 wire. You must purchase a .025 wire spool. The dust cover is a nice touch, but the low-slung and high-mounted display can't be seen without tilting the welder up or kneeling down. Yeswelder has the ability to start TIG from scratch but I will never use this feature so buying a TIG torch is not in my future plans. In fact, I will never use the stick welding function. For these purposes I have a Hobart AC-DC welder. I am giving 4 stars out of 5 due to lack of good instructions, difficult to read display and lack of wire speed control. Yeswelder informed me that the electrode holder and grounding cables I received were not Yeswelder accessories, which confirmed my suspicion that the welder I received was a return. The box was definitely re-glued. My experience with Yeswelder's customer service has been outstanding. They sent new displays, a ground wire, and an electrode holder to replace and repair missing or damaged parts. They even sent me a replacement motherboard. Again, their first choice was to send a brand new unit, but I chose to fix the welder. Very impressive customer service. To update. The new electrode holder and ground clamp are heavy-duty 10-foot units. I mentioned above about their customer service. Today, out of the blue, I received a very nice Yeswelder welding helmet as a gift for a problem I was having. I'm really confident that Yeswelder will endorse their products.
