Review on ๐ŸŽง FARO G2-PNR Premium Pilot Aviation Headset with Mp3 Input - Black by Carlos Macy

Good headset for students/beginners

I bought this headset as my first aviation headset. So far I think it's a good buy. The sound quality (at least for its primary function) is excellent. I like the dual volume controls and switch for mono and stereo. The gooseneck mic is good, but that doesn't mean it can't be a little longer. It has a little padding for comfort on both ears and the top, but it still gets a little uncomfortable after prolonged use, although still within acceptable limits. The MP3 plug-in function is a good idea with the 3.5mm jack and the included jack, but the sound quality for it (separate channel) is poor. The best feature of this headset is the noise cancellation. It might actually be too quiet. It's not a Bose, but depending on how long this one lasts I'd consider buying another one. The price is good for students/beginners. UPDATE: Over the long run, this set has been great. It still works like new. My only minor issue is that the large earcups tend to catch on the yoke when I hook them in there and they pop out very easily. They dress right back up, but getting them on properly takes some time and effort, and if you're in a hurry to get airborne (or are already airborne) it can be frustrating. I also find the headphones quite large and clumsy compared to other headsets. Yes, it's a good sign of noise reduction ability. but sometimes it seems/appears a bit "clumsy".
