Everything seemed fine, the o-ring seemed to do the trick. Closed, gone up, in the rain. After that there was water. The o-ring just doesn't seem capable of holding water. Therefore it is NOT PERMITTED! NOT RECOMMENDED. UPDATE; 06/03/21. When my return window on 30.4. closed, I decided to see if I could get this stupid box to refuse water. OK, so I succeeded! Here's what I did. The rubber o-ring never cuts properly. Stretched at the factory. This made it too flimsy to seal properly. I removed it easily, cleaned, then reinstalled and made sure I didn't pull. With 3 inches of clearance left, I found that yes, the rubber was stretched when the original was installed. OK, now what. Well I just do a little engine repair and modification. I took some fuel lines that I use for 2-stroke engines, cut them to length and stuck them in the gap. OK, now the test. I sprayed water on this box from ALL angles, especially the sides. Did this continuously for 1/2 hour. Open and no water at all. I wanted to stop, but now it's done! To update; 06/15/21. Leave it outdoors in an upright position. There were several T storms now, no flooding at all. My modification seemed to be effective.
