We built a working truck and picked up a nicer tailgate with a step on the tailgate from the new truck. The seller forgot to give us the key and I had lost his info when we got to install it. Because we stay different. Tools in bed under the trunk lid, we wanted to be sure we could lock the tailgate. Sure, we could spend $30-$50 just to replace the lock, but the keys don't match the doors or the ignition. Since this will be a multi-operator service truck, we must all have the same key to facilitate key tracking (pun intended here). Current Product Review: The quality of the locks seems reliable and I believe OEM is close or better than OEM when it is not OEM. For the money it was a great way to change the key at the truck instead of going to the locksmith who wanted to charge us $80 even though we offered to bring him the lock! For some reason we had to remove the locking lever from our locks and/or realign the locking levers in order for them to work properly. never mind Just a few more minutes of work. Bonus? Now even the ignition cylinder is brand new! If you need to recode a compatible car with this lock cylinder kit I would highly recommend it!
