Great Upconversion DVD Player

What a bargain! I hooked this thing up to a 46" 1080p LCD TV and have watched DVDs in both widescreen and letterbox format. I wouldn't have believed how well this player works unless I saw it with my own eyes I won't go as far as to say it's as clear as a BluRay, but it's really close, even if you're sitting eight feet in front of a 46" 1080p screen. Of course, it's not really a BluRay, but it means my DVD collection is not as outdated as I feared In fact I started buying DVDs again instead of paying more for BluRays because now I know I can watch them on this player and a lot lose little video quality. Just remember to use an HDMI cable to get the best picture and make sure your TV can receive a 1080p signal from the player. (Or 720p if your TV only 720p ha t). If there's one complaint, it's that the movie you're watching doesn't automatically pick up where you left off when you ejected the disc. I've had much smaller and older DVD players that handle this very well and I don't understand why they left such a basic feature out of this amazing player? (But then again, PS3 doesn't work with BluRay!? Think!) Yes, it forces you to fast forward or skip chapters to get you where you left off the next time you watch the movie. insert a disc, but that's a small price to pay for this picture quality. I recommend this DVD player.
