Cheap and decent

This is a good device for the money. Most of the other reviews cover important points. I would like to add that sometimes it produces high frequency noise that you can hear. Maybe he's always making noise and I only hear him sometimes. This also applies if the device is switched off but still connected to the network. It also draws 15 watts of power when it's off but still plugged in. Most other DVD players, TVs, etc. use 1-4 watts. I don't know why this is so high. If you plug it in and don't…

Great product at a great price!

My previous DVD player stopped working in less than a year! So I had a few months to watch my movies on the computer, but I soon got tired of it. I brought this as a spare because I like the simplicity of using a separate DVD playback device. So far, so good. It has excellent picture and sound and is easy to use. It's exactly what I wanted, especially with function buttons on the device itself for those annoying moments when I can't find the remote. And while I'm not happy with the size of some

Convert DVDs for less

I just have to say why pay a high price for a DVD or Blu-ray player when you don't need it. My Aiwa DVD started working, so I researched, read the reviews and bought this unit. I'm glad I did. It took me a few minutes to get the picture quality right for my HD TV. God when I did better than my quince in its prime. I'm sure the Blu Ray is better but for the money who cares it's crisp and clear and I enjoy watching movies on this setup. I also bought a cheap HDMI cable from the Revain website…

Works perfectly! for DVD player

Works as expected. I haven't explored all the remote's capabilities - I probably never will - I just wanted something that could play DVDs with ease. My cable box, TV, and VCR remotes also have a lot of buttons that I've never used. However, for those who use all these little buttons, the documentation for them seems very complete. I had a little trouble getting it to work. I plugged the RCA cables that came with the box into the appropriate sockets on the back of the TV, but I didn't get any…

Cheapest on the market, works great.

When I bought this DVD player (February 2010) it was the cheapest DVD player available at Revain for $35. (Prices seem to be going up; my last DVD player was less.) It's worked like clockwork so far. It's completely plug and play. I connected it with the cables that came with it, and the remote also had batteries. Unlike the last super cheap DVD player I bought, I haven't noticed any quality issues with this one. As far as I can tell, the sound and picture match. Picture and sound quality is ok

Better to use HDTV

Personally, I can no longer watch an SD DVD on my home system without writhing. Even with reliable upconversion from my Panasonic BDP or Toshiba HD DVD players, DVDs don't do the job. However, most of the time I watch SD DVDs because Redbox or TV series are only available in this format. A trip to my parents house took me to my dad's 46" RProj Sony Bravia. good HDTV. I picked up a few seasons of Criminal Minds to pass the time. I was horrified to find that he didn't have his 480i had upgraded…

Great Upconversion DVD Player

What a bargain! I hooked this thing up to a 46" 1080p LCD TV and have watched DVDs in both widescreen and letterbox format. I wouldn't have believed how well this player works unless I saw it with my own eyes I won't go as far as to say it's as clear as a BluRay, but it's really close, even if you're sitting eight feet in front of a 46" 1080p screen. Of course, it's not really a BluRay, but it means my DVD collection is not as outdated as I feared In fact I started buying DVDs again instead of…

Light and fragile

Due to the reasonable price and the many positive reviews I ordered this to replace my old DVD player but was very disappointed with the unit. That the inner box (product) came covered in a thick layer of black dust or grime as if it had been in a coal mine for several months is a bit embarrassing, but the problem is with the device. myself. It is very light and thin. The DVD tray actually wobbles when opened or closed and I have to be very careful when inserting a disc or it won't seat…
