I just have to say why pay a high price for a DVD or Blu-ray player when you don't need it. My Aiwa DVD started working, so I researched, read the reviews and bought this unit. I'm glad I did. It took me a few minutes to get the picture quality right for my HD TV. God when I did better than my quince in its prime. I'm sure the Blu Ray is better but for the money who cares it's crisp and clear and I enjoy watching movies on this setup. I also bought a cheap HDMI cable from the Revain website (why pay at retail). The picture is better (sharper) than S-Video or RCA connectors. I would say the only negative is the on screen menu. Update: 07/12/12 This player does not turn on at regular intervals. I need to restart this device: unplug it, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in. No big deal, it works the same way.
