Review on BILT HARD 5-Speed Benchtop Work Light with Enhanced SEO by John Ghattamaraju

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Suitable for wood and nothing more

I am a blacksmith by trade and if you want to buy a drill for this purpose, do not pay attention. For woodworking, this is just fantastic. Each bit fits well and works very well. Metalworking, however, is a whole different story. Even if you try to drill through soft (unhardened) steel with a titanium carbide bit, the thing will stick. I've tried all five speeds and used cutting oil, but it still refuses to cut through the steel and instead burns my extremely expensive bits. I gave it 3 stars because it works really well with light projects and wood and cuts through. Stainless steel is perfectly fine. Anything harder than 440 stainless steel and you'll burn your bits and motor before you make any progress. Also, the attached clamp tends to come loose fairly quickly. This is pretty poor quality and I would recommend buying a separate clip for each job you do with it.

Pros
  • Power tools
Cons
  • High price
