NO stainless steel and the acid in my kombucha will attack the galvanized mandrel.
These spikes are covered with something that isn't stainless steel. The outside has already started to peel off and if you put it in vinegar the coating will start to peel off. If you're worried about leaching, I'd be very careful with them. I would have bought stainless steel for more beers but they didn't have those special rivets.
