I've thought about trying a refillable dispenser to reduce waste but that's not the solution. Right out of the box the pump didn't foam very well and produced a jet of water. I tried the same soap in an empty disposable pump and it lathered nice and smooth. In fact, a single-use, reusable pump survived one of them. One of the pumps has started giving the soap a stinky, gummy smell, which I believe is due to some of the seals breaking down. His head got stuck the whole time so I just threw it away. So yes. It looks good and is solidly built, but the pump just doesn't work that well. The disposable pump initially outperformed this thing, lasted longer and was cheaper even though I bought it with soap. So in this case there are not so many advantages.
