One of the slightly annoying "First World Problems" we have, is that when pulling paper towels off the roll, we get far more than what we need. Often, several feet of paper towels come cascading off the roll and down onto the kitchen counter and the floor.The way this towel holder is designed, the "free rolling" of towels is massively restricted by the rubberized "wings" on the stalk of the holder itself. So while you can turn the roll, it simply won't "spill" any more towels out than you actually want or need.The construction is extremely sturdy, with no wobbles in the various joints, nor are there any gaps. Everything moves smoothly - - but it requires a fair amount of force: Once you've positioned the holder in the orientation you want it, it's not going anywhere unless you want it in a different position. In other words, it's not going to "sag" into a new position by itself.I mounted this under a kitchen cabinet, replacing our plain wood towel holder that's been there for more than two decades. In addition to two screw holes (it comes with mounting screws and drywall anchors, but I could not use them under the cabinet since they were WAY too long), it also has a remarkably effective adhesive that would likely work just fine without any mounting hardware.In fact, when I went to attach it, it turned out that I'd positioned the plate at a very slight angle, rather than parallel to the front of the cabinet face. Which meant I had to pull the adhesive side back off the bottom of the cabinet. THAT required a tool! The adhesive is incredibly strong and the only way I was able to separate the holder from the underside of the cabinet was with a wide metal putty knife.Once I got it (literally) straightened out, I used both the adhesive and a pair of (very short) screws. It's not going anywhere.Oh, and my wife really likes the way it looks since the brushed-metal finish matches all of our stainless-steel appliances as well as our stainless cabinet pull-handles.
