I recently went on a no carb diet and have started cooking a lot more. I bought them to hold the six main spices I've been using in cooking lately. They are clear, really good size, almost TOO big, but I only have most of them 1/2 full or less. They look great on my counter next to my oven. The spoons are small but have a nice deep scoop so they can hold a fair amount of spice. I use a spoon and just sprinkle everything I cook. The plastic of the containers is smooth, acrylic?, durable. Hinges are good, lids open very easily but feel sturdy. while cooking food MUCH EASIER! I am very happy with this purchase! I bought set 4 and set 2. The outer shell for Set 4 has a rubber bottom to keep it from moving. I don't have it, but it still stays in place. But it also sits ONLY a little lower than the set of 4 because it doesn't have that rubber on the bottom. I would recommend them to anyone who cooks and uses a lot of the same BASIC spices in their cooking. Spoons and the presence of spices really make the cooking process easier because they are so accessible. You don't need two hands to grind salt or pepper (I crushed a bunch beforehand to fill those 1/2 ways). You don't need two hands to open other spice bottles. You just take a spoon, sprinkle it on le and voila! The best!
