Review on πŸ”Š Sceptre C305W-2560UN: 30" Ultrawide Curved Monitor with DisplayPort, Build-In Speakers, and HD Quality by Richard Schwalbe

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Amazing budget monitor. provided you do not intend to use speakers.

So I bought the Scepter C305W to replace the 32-inch 1080p TV that was used as my primary monitor, eventually ditching Acer's ill-considered 24-inch decision of 2014. Cons: + Aesthetically pleasing + Easy to use/navigate built-in UI + Amazing image quality + Blue light filter + Budget monitors done right - Speakers are relatively nonexistent - May not work for some in a dual monitor setup. Far superior to many monitors I've come across, aside from the obvious price tag of $400+. Visually it's stunning, and as far as aesthetics goes. If only I could post memes here. There's a certain Disney character that shows the bliss that's about to come. But crisp and bright. and the settings can definitely add a juicy sense of color without straining the eyes (I upped the contrast/saturation a little but turned on the blue filter mode). 85Hz is a bit of an odd space in its own right, with most monitors in the budget category at 60Hz, mids at 144Hz, and high-end monitors at 244Hz, but I have to say Sceptre. You're doing fine. Games definitely feel smoother and I don't see any screen tearing between 30-85fps, meaning games locked at 30fps or 60fps look just as good as intended. But when it comes to sound quality, the product leaves a lot to be desired. . Did you know it comes with built-in speakers? If you haven't, you're not far from the goal. the sound from the speakers (at maximum volume) is a muffled whisper. At first I thought it was just because it was the first monitor I had that allowed me to use DisplayPort cables. but no. tried HDMI (for PC and my PS4). and it was even worse for the sound. I didn't know what it could be until then. I tried a workaround with a set of Logitech stereo speakers (a great $25 investment for Audio SCIENCE!) and for PC. works great with external speakers playing a playback role. HDMI (PS4/PC) also after consulting Reddit, Discord and other audio forums. Absolute silence or a hollow whisper were my only options. But don't let that put you off if you're considering buying this monitor, just be aware that it does come with the advertised speakers. actually they don't exist. Other than that it's a great buy and when it's on sale it's even better! And for the scepter, I know I just messed up a fairly minor device I bought. I'll even admit that I love everything else about it. But listen to me here. How about edging out LG, Samsung and Co. and making them famous again in the US PC market? And with this monitor and a few tweaks, we definitely can and will. Get rid of the built-in speakers and make a monitor with a frequency of 144 Hz. You can increase the exchange price (for example, $ 250-275, but not more than $ 300). Remove what's useless and make a monitor that bounces more! Sincerely, a guy who just wants his good things to be good. (I will also volunteer as a tribute to all wink tests)
