I had poor range with my Asus Bluetooth 4.0 adapter, in the same room my Samsung Galaxy Buds would cut off and drop out audio unless I had line of sight of the adapter from about 10 feet away. So I bought this adapter to see if it would solve the problem. I just plugged in this Bluetooth 5.0 adapter and Windows 10 automatically recognized it and I was able to pair and use my Bluetooth devices right away. I didn't install any additional programs because the Bluetooth settings in Windows 10 work fine with it. The range of my headphones has been greatly increased with this adapter, they work great in one room and I can even walk into adjacent rooms and still get signal as the signal can go through walls to a point. I highly recommend this adapter.
