I've been knitting for about 20 years and this is the BEST cable needle you can get. Horizontal pins sometimes slip, but this pin always stays in place. Because it's metal, it glides easily over your stitches, while the plastic kind catches little bumps on the needle; Even if there are no defects, the plastic type does not slide well at the seams. I've also tried using double-tipped metal needles for cable management, but they're utterly useless - they slip off like it's their job - not worth the hassle. Either way, this is the best cable needle you can get.
