3rd Update, after two years:Everything had been fine, until recently. On a really hot summer day, in the direct sun, one unit started going off on it's own. Pain, as it took a trip up the roof to remove, shut off, and reset. But, ok after that. And yesterday, the other unit started in. In the rain, with fireplace going. Same solution, up on the roof, remove, shut off, re-start.This is a great design and idea. I would not mind at all paying quite a bit more for better overall, long term quality, but there is nothing else like it, that I have found. But, keep in mind, shutting them off from false alarms is not easy, if you don't have easy access.2nd Update:After nonsensical response from manufacturer, I requested replacement due to one defective alarm. (It was going off on its own, several times a day)Quick replacement, and new units functioning properly. So, all seems well & according to description now.See the rest below. All still applies.Ok, I was looking for an exterior panic alarm, with horn & strobe. This clearly fits the description. Just completed the install, high on exterior chimney. I had already run a power source to the area. It was a matter of accessing the location, Drilling some holes & mounting screws. Took less than an hour.First Impressions: Seems modestly loud, outside. Seems ok for bright, outside, but so far, only checked in daylight. I could envision louder & brighter, but time will tell. I have neighbors about 250' away. One noticed right away. However, I have a well insulated house, with good windows, and can't really hear it inside my own house, unless I open a window.Instructions: ok, but took a little exploration, experimentation. They could be more clear, could include template, and explanation of pressure switch. Also, my "controls" were just a bit different than the instructions.Ease of use: Definitely is easy, once it's set up. Pust alarm, it comes on, push cancel, it stops. They work anywhere inside the house, and from the barn 200' away.I like the battery backup, but wonder what happens in a year or so to the batteries. I also suggest sealing the power access hole you may have to drill.Other than that, so far a reasonably good product. Let's see how it stands up over time.UPDATE AFTER TWO DAYS:Multiple false alarms, alarms going off on their own. Maybe it's radio frequency interference, but you cannot have alarms like these going off on their own! I am awaiting response from the manufacturer.Note: Replacement units functioning properly.
