Review on 🔧 Gates TCKWP328 Engine Timing Belt Kit with Water Pump: Ultimate Precision and Performance for Optimal Engine Timing by Michael Miner

After 9,000 miles and 18 months (12 month/12,000 mile warranty, whichever comes first) my new Gates water pump is leaking through the drain hole. THIS IS COMPLETELY TERRIBLE! Subaru water pumps last over 100,000 miles. I changed mine pre-emptively when I did the timing belt, tensioners and tensioner, all from this 80,000 mile/12 year old WRX/STi kit. After reading about it, Gates replaced the Chinese-made water pump, which is complete crap. I am now concerned about other components from this kit. Installing the belt, idler pulleys, tensioner, pump and thermostat is serious work. It's awful to rebuild a water pump in such a short amount of time. DO NOT BUY THIS KIT. Buy genuine Subaru OEM parts. This is an interference engine and now I have Chinese junk installed.
