Review on DVC Micro Lined Replacement Kit for IROBOT Roomba 600 Series by Lisa Zulo

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not as good as before - I hope it doesn't ruin my Roomba

If I were to write a review on this product since I first bought it 1.5 years ago it would be one 5 star rating. . The parts I received at the time fitted my Roomba 650 perfectly and were identical to the original parts that came with it. I ordered a set and when it arrived the bristle brush didn't even fit my 650. I managed to push it in but it was so tight it didn't rotate and ruined the whole process. Roomba could barely move and just walked in circles. I went back and ordered again hoping it was just an accident. The next set arrived last week. Both brushes fit a little better. However, my Roomba does not work with maximum quality. The bristle brush doesn't seem to be of the same quality as the actual iRobot brushes I've used in the past. These bristles have always been relatively firm and have excellent hair pick-up. The bristles in this set are very soft to the touch and I can say they don't pick up a lot of hair (as evidenced by the fact that in a house with three women with long hair I didn't have to use a red hair removal tool). ). Also the side brush does not rotate properly on carpet. This is normal on a vinyl kitchen floor, but now it seems to get stuck and doesn't always rotate smoothly on carpet. It makes an awfully loud noise and I can watch Roomba run over the fine particles without picking them up. Since it seems to me that it takes more effort to turn the brushes, my battery also drains within 10-15 minutes, while it sucked for about an hour on my previous parts. I'll probably get by with this set for now, but I'm sad that even "authentic" iRobot parts don't seem to work well and are no longer of quality.
