Will not work with 2.5 " filters!

Purchased to remove a leaking oil filter on my 2008 Mercury 30 EFI outboard. My filter is 2.55" and this wrench has absolutely no grip. Not useful for small oil filters.Didn't even touch it after loosening to unscrew it.
