I drove 3 winter seasons on the Nokian Hakkapelitta R2 and was generally satisfied. At the beginning of this winter, I decided to upgrade the tires, selling the old ones while the wear was small, and bought a new R3 195/65/15. So, although the R2 were already pretty quiet tires, the new generation R3 turned out to be even better - in general, almost silence! R3 on pavement is even quieter than in summer on ContiPremium Contact5 (which are very good for summer). I have a VW Golf 6. Also, handling has become noticeably better. And what's especially nice is that the R3 tires got better paddling in thick snow in uncleaned yards. If on R2 it sometimes got stuck, then on R3 so far in 3 months of winter it has not stuck anywhere. In my opinion, the R3 is the best tire for those who appreciate comfort and quietness, while still having good handling and braking. Of course, if there is ice and loose snow on the road, then braking will be worse than on spikes, this must be borne in mind! But there are also many pluses of Velcro - both silence and confident, good braking on winter asphalt (even sprinkled with reagents). Personally, for me, the noise of the spikes is unbearable, so there is no alternative to the R3 for me. I did not notice any valkost, not very different from the summer Continental. The VW Golf is famous for its good handling, and in my opinion, the R3 tires do not worsen it.
