Description of Nokian Tires Hakkapeliitta R3 175/65 R14 82R winter

The Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 studless tire is the epitome of safety, comfort and economy. Tiny particles from a renewable, safe material have been added to the rubber compound (Nokian Cryo Crystal 3 concept). These particles have sharp edges that show up on the tread as they wear. As a result, traction on slippery surfaces - on ice and packed snow - is improved. Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 winter tires have minimal rolling resistance, even lower than summer tires, thanks to the tread structure and the latest rubber compound. Easy rolling reduces fuel consumption, saves money and reduces CO2 emissions. The Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 consistently scores top marks in tire comparison tests for rolling resistance and proves to be the most economical winter tyre. This is possible thanks to a 5% reduction in rolling resistance compared to the predecessor tire Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2. The Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 winter tire is suitable for almost any modern passenger car. The model is offered in dozens of sizes for wheels with a diameter of 14 to 21 inches. It provides a high level of comfort in the most difficult road and weather conditions, ensuring safe driving in them. Arctic Sense Grip The Arctic Sense Grip concept was used in the creation of the tire. This is a set of technical solutions aimed at providing maximum grip on packed snow and ice. One of them is the use of several types of lamellae. In the shoulder areas there are self-locking slots. Upon contact with the road, they, opening and forming numerous faces, limit the mobility of the block. As a result, not only grip properties are improved, but their stability is also increased. The central part contains lamella pumps. When in contact with a wet coating, they absorb moisture due to the presence of special cavities inside, thereby drying the contact patch. The action of the lamellas is significantly enhanced by the compound. It is made in two layers. The outer side contains, in addition to silicon dioxide, Cryo Crystal 3 particles. They are distinguished by their high hardness and crystalline form. This component more than compensates for the lack of studs in the tread of this tire, providing effective grip on icy surfaces. The lower base layer of the tread is highly rigid. Such a "substrate" gives stability to grip properties, improves directional stability at high speed and when maneuvering, and reduces rolling resistance. Snow Claws Another innovation of this model is the numerous grooves between the blocks of an unusual triangular shape with long curved zigzag edges. These elements enhance directional stability and grip during longitudinal accelerations on snowy surfaces. Some of them are located on the sides of the shoulder blocks. Brake Booster The next interesting solution...

The best price for such a product, I will buy more!

I have not tested it on snow yet, on dry pavement the handling is excellent, the tires are quieter and softer than summer Pirelli with RFT. I didn’t like it on wet pavement, the car floats a little, pulls a little to the side and there is a rumble after 70 km / h

Pros
  • Made in Finland (for my size 245/40 R19) Good behavior on dry pavement Quite cheap, for my standard size only 14000. for the wheel. "Lifetime" warranty
Cons
  • No Run on Flat for R19 and up. Behavior on wet pavement

Best thing for the money, glad I did it.

Amazing tire! Great grip for any winter. After the spikes is just incredible. And it's rear-wheel drive with lots of power and torque. You even start moving uphill on snow and ice porridge, although the dead man thinks that we will slip. For overtaking on frozen highway asphalt - even anti-slip is not needed. Full delight.

Pros
  • Versatility, silence, the ability to pleasantly surprise.
Cons
  • Friends complain about the durability of the previous generation (Hakka R2), which causes concern, but so far the flight is normal.

Below are some advantages: When compared to the preceding R2, these tires provide superior traction in the snow. They also demonstrated stability when used on the ice. Having this drawback: The spikes offer superior traction, however they become easily dislodged when driving on clean asphalt. In the city, spikes are not required at all.

A good balance of price/quality, recommend it.

Pros: Quiet enough, but there is a slight howl at speeds greater than 50 miles per hour. It felt that because of the smoothness of the pavement, the acceleration was more sluggish than usual. The pavement was rather comfy. Below are some downsides: The R18 is extremely unbalanced when placed on brand new wheels. While the rubber was turned through an angle of 180 degrees in relation to the disks, weights ranging from 65 to 90 g were hung from each disk.

I did not regret the purchase, everything is fine.

Happy with the rubber. Drove about 500 km on it, car BMW 320g20 Has some pros: Quiet, holds the road well (in the snow). Who owns a rear-wheel drive car will be pleased with the "drift". The grip is good, only when a little loose snow, ice or tightly rolled already control is weak. But this is understandable, not spikes. With its cons: In relatively warm weather +5, +10, on the highway at high speed the car behaves unstable, floats (speed ~ 150-180). Active rebuilding is the same, it floats…

This is my first review. Bought in '18 with dimensions 205/55/16 for Kia Ceed JD. For 4 years of operation, there were no problems with the tires. I often drive both on the highway and in the city. Even to my mother-in-law I managed to drive into the village with a clearance of 15cm. I flew into pits both in the city and on the highway, the disk had to be leveled, and at least henna tires. On the track in the ice behaves stably and predictably. I calmly drive 14 and do not particularly limit…

Pros
  • Moderately quiet, durable, stable
Cons
  • Have not found. There is a slight roll at a temperature of +5 and above, but this is a drawback of all friction tires.

Immediately after the purchase, I did not write this review, I do not like to recommend to people what I did not use myself, I drove more than 3000 km on these tires, so now I can confidently recommend them. I am definitely satisfied and happy with my choice, as well as the value for money! I recommend Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 to everyone. Try it and you won't be able to refuse them!

Pros
  • For my brand new Skoda Octavia, I chose Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 205/55-R16 and it's the best choice for winter. The brand from the Finnish company Nokian Tires already speaks for itself, I have long preferred tires (summer and winter) from Nokian Tires. I have personally tested the tires on unpredictable winter roads and the results exceeded my expectations.! The tires have excellent grip on icy, snowy and slushy roads! In areas where the road is cleared to asphalt, you enjoy the silence in the car and excellent handling at any speed. The quality allows you to ride with pleasure, without experiencing discomfort from bumps, icing, snowdrifts and road defects. These tires are leaders in all characteristics and allow me to maximize the possibilities of my new car (stability control, traction control, abs)! The non-studded Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 tires provide perfect contact with the surface of any road, giving comfort, saving fuel. Sufficiently elastic and practical tires. They are distinguished by increased wear resistance, as manufacturers promise, and time will prove it.
Cons
  • No

The product does not match the description, poor quality.

the third year I drive a four-wheel drive sedan (Volvo s90) on this. in dry and warm weather, no complaints about the rubber in terms of its driving performance. but in cold weather . in general, now in Hong Kong there is a good minus (-13 17) and the roads are not watered, i. E. they are kept in Scandinavian mode (cleaning only). so the braking properties in such weather are almost zero! any section, even snowless - from a speed of 40-50 mph, the ABS starts working almost immediately, and…

Pros
  • quite quiet and good grip on asphalt
Cons
  • on ice - like a cow! disgusting braking properties. breaks in the pits

Second-rate goods, I won't buy any more.

On the first day after the purchase, one tire was punctured, before that, the last time my tires were punctured was 10 years ago, I even forgot about this. It turns out that, under warranty, these tires must be transported and glued only in special services. And if I am on the highway and there is no spare wheel, then take off the wheel and take it to them, or take a tow truck, the expenses that you will not be paid. They said so on the hotline, they could have added yes, we don’t care, they…

Pros
  • The price is good, but there is no guarantee as such
Cons
  • Guarantee and tire quality

Disappointed with the product, not good for anything.

Do not buy! Look for normal winter tires from another manufacturer, but not R3. Everyone who sings the praises of this model - I have only one question for them: did they drive it at all or did they just watch advertising reviews on the Internet ?! Has some pros: Dignity in the form of a Nokian nameplate on the sidewall of the tire, so that others can see that rubber is not cheap. There may also be not very strong wear - enough for 3 or 4 seasons, with an average mileage of 15-20 thousand km /…

Former winter tire brands include Gisloved's NordFrost, Continental's ContiIceContact, and Pirelli's IceZero. The first time driving in the snow without studded tires. Drivetrain with the front wheels. In use in the city, the suburbs (about equally), and the country. Variable temperatures between twelve and twenty-eight degrees I got to experience all the joys of winter driving, including wet and frozen asphalt, fresh snow, rolling, ice, ice with snow on top, icy track, etc. All first…

Pros
  • An extremely quiet, flexible, and long-lasting sidewall. High levels of traction and handling stability. Top-notch "cuts porridge" (heavy sleet) on the track's guage. There's also a lot more. Absolutely well worth the price.
Cons
  • Honestly, I don't think so.

The item is average, not sure if it's worth the money.

I gave choosing tires a lot of care, keeping in mind the switch to a mono-drive vehicle. This tire was the option. I then asked myself, "Who, if not the Finns, knows what winter is?" It generally acts normally regardless of the state of the roads. rolling like any Velcro at temps close to zero. did not become trapped in any place. There is only one BUT, and it ruins everything from the start. The number 6 only appeared on the front axle after 2 mm of tread was added; nevertheless, the number 8…

Pros
  • good rowing
Cons
  • resistance to wear

The product is very low quality, not what you need at all.

Worst tire I've ever had. I did not expect this from the Nokian model at all. Noisy, almost the same in this parameter as studded. There is no stability on ice, no braking properties. On snow the situation is better, but not critical. The car does not hold a straight line, valkost. In snow porridge, the behavior is terrible. To be honest, when I read the tests, I expected better. I don't recommend anyone to buy it. I'd be happy to trade it for spikes.

Pros
  • Good snow traction. Although perhaps this is the merit of the Quattro drive
Cons
  • straight line stability Brakes and stability on ice Brakes and stability on snow noisy

For a quiet ride, for a European winter - I think it's ideal, but a trip to the forest on this rubber is cancelled. Yes, the Chinese Maxxis SS-01 felt more confident. With its pros: Excellent, soft and quiet. Shoe on the Nissan X-Trail. On the track, it holds the road perfectly, even when overtaking - you can drive through a stake and not even feel it. Has some cons: Stress only - on bare ice and in sharp turns on snowy porridge with ice, will not replace spikes in any way. Hard braking, too…

Previous winter tires: Gisloved NordFrost, Continental ContiIceContact, PirelliIceZero. The first experience of operating a car on non-studded winter tires. Front drive. Operation: city, suburb (50/50), country roads. Temperature range: +12 / -28 Operating conditions: wet asphalt, frozen asphalt, fresh snow, rolling, ice, ice with snow on top, icy track, etc., that is, I had a chance to try all the winter joys. Impressions are only positive. In the absence of snow and temperatures down to…

Pros
  • Quiet, on the move soft, durable sidewall. Excellent grip, good directional stability. Excellent "cuts porridge" (heavy sleet) on the track gauge on the track. And much more. Totally worth your money.
Cons
  • For me - no.

The product did not disappoint, the quality pleases.

I skated on such 4 seasons, there was a set made in finland. Now they sell only 2022 production. I doubted it for a long time, but I really liked the Finnish one. The 2022 one is slightly different in quality, even the color of the rubber is different, ours is a little tougher. I decided to take it, especially since the Nokians are leaving the 2022. The price tag is pain. Nokian decided to have a good boil before leaving. For my r18 - 70k. But overall it's a great tire. On the pavement behaves…

Pros
  • Quiet, good handling, excellent flotation in snow and people.
Cons
  • Price, hydroplaning

Revainrating 2 out of 5

I'm a little disappointed, not a good buy.

as soon as the wear of the rubber approaches half, change to a new one or risk not reaching your destination without incident. the explanation is obvious and simple, between the checkers on the edges of the rubber there is a side half the height of the new tread, and so this side becomes on a par with the main tread at 50% wear and begins to block the removal of water and snow from the contact patch. for this reason, once I taxied the wheel on the curb in a turn at a speed of 30 mph - the…

Pros
  • Quiet, directional stability, good while new was in size 235/45/18 on a sedan
Cons
  • at 50% wear, it absolutely does not hold the road, does not remove water, and even more so snow porridge. no match hack 7

Foolishly and in a hurry, I bought a new set of these wonderful tires in size 245/40r19 on original BMW 786m rims. For 3 months of operation of new tires - 3 side cuts, in completely harmless pits on the Hong Kong Ring Road and its environs. The third did not repair, threw it away. The handling of the BMW 530dx is disgusting on them. I stopped trusting the car, because the behavior is predicted very poorly. A small snowball - and you go like a vegetable. The speed index is T (up to 190), but if

Pros
  • - low noise level; - in a rut behaves decently; - on wet roads and temperatures around zero, they have advantages over both summer and studs.
Cons
  • - weak sidewalls on a low profile; - C grade aquaplaning; - controllability on dry pavement for a C grade, the sharpness of the steering wheel is greatly lost in comparison with summer; - on ice - a deuce, they seem to be holding, but they break down unpredictably. - in the snow - deuce, do not keep the trajectory.
