I attached this bracket to the back of the TV so the wireless router and cable box weren't visible. It worked for my particular setup, thanks in part to the fact that the TV already had a soundbar mount installed. I used long soundbar arms to add stability to this particular mount, otherwise it would have been flimsy. Instead of attaching it to the back of the TV with just one of the VESA holes, I attached it to the soundbar mount at two points to make it more stable (with my own hardware). The base of the mount is 7.9 x 7.9 inches, so this worked for my application. I can't think of a full size DVD player or audio component that fits on a small base. Before ordering, plan ahead and decide if this unit will fit your TV setup. In my case, the extremely short arm of the mount (9.6") would have prevented this mount from being mounted on top of my 55" TV, maybe only on the bottom.
