Review on Dritz My Double Deluxe Blue Medium Dress Form - Perfect Fit For Your Clothing Designs by Nancy Levisay

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Flimsy but good if staying set to one size.

This is decent but not good for the seamstress who has multiple sized customers. If you need to make constant adjustments your up the creek. Firstly it's going to kill your fingers and secondly it will never make it to most of the sizes you want. As stated in other reviews it will not get to the Fuller size ranges without padding. Was very disappointed about this issue. I won't be paying for the padding kits that look like a bag of shoulder pads due their poor reviews. I will be making a muslin fit dress and fitting it over sponge and batting placed on the dress form until I get to my shape and size. I will use Velcro closures in the back. The knobs are horrible to turn. They are also set on some strange balance system. If you open it to the widest in one area, it may disable you from opening up an ajoining area to it's fullest capacity. This issue has also been stated in other reviews. Legs are stable but the weight of the form itself is very light causing it to wable. Doesn't lean as straight as it should. This can be adjusted but will take some playing with. One of my main draws was the fact that it can be used for pants. No other basic dress form has this feature. Overall when you work hard for your money you expect better for $160.00, but it is what it is. Unless you are buying one of the $400.00+ professional one size forms or are a smaller boyish build with a big neck, most of the brands have similar issues.

Pros
  • Dress Forms & Mannequins
Cons
  • The dress form is heavy and difficult to move
