Review on 🌲 Timeless Fun: Lincoln Logs Anniversary Edition - Authentic Real Logs for All Ages by Ben Robinson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Excellent quality logos. The composition of the set and the number of logs are not impressive

I grew up with my grandparents' Lincoln Logs set which was a well rounded set with interlocking pieces and most of them stuck together when they did put together were put together. This last point is crucial for fencing your log home with vertical and longer pieces. Since there is no way to build a fence or a fence that won't tip over, my daughter's huts are vulnerable to attack from wolves, mountain lions, and other reptiles that can get right through the hut's wide-open door or climb through the hut window seat. When Kinex bought LL they obviously didn't think about cabin safety when they started mass producing these perfectly identical parts. Fencing issues aside, this set does not include the typical 3 slotted logs. You have your 1's, 2's and long 4's, but 3 is mysteriously missing. My daughter's imagination will be limited to long ranch style cabins or short cabins and I am concerned about her current offering of architecture courses without the critical 3 to build double wide cabins or large cabins in a yuppie ski town and timeshares . Don't get me started on roof restrictions. We'll never survive winter in the mountains with all those sunny rooms built because of second-size clapboards. Having so much open and open space on the floor plan is extremely inefficient in terms of heating the home, and besides, nobody wants to vacate those open spaces in the dead of winter. 3 is full of logs and they saved up to earn a few bucks for a kid's toy that was perfected a lifetime ago. Kinex could fill a cereal box with way more cereal than they did.
