Review on Depets Adjustable Recovery Pet Cone E-Collar: A Practical Neck Cover for Cats, Puppies, and Rabbits, Featuring Plastic Elizabeth Protection for Wound Healing by Summer Edwards

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good product - medical coverage

My cat Leo weighs just over 8 pounds and his neck is about 7 1/2 inches. Very easy and quick to attach with Velcro - essential if you have a squirming patient. The black strap offered some padding (not much) due to the plastic around his neck. I would say the product works well and feels solid. I didn't appreciate that the manufacturer left a very large sticky label on the plastic that was very difficult to remove without scratching the surface and I considered deducting a star (I'll tell you manufacturer). Leo hated the collar and we only left it on for one night so he wouldn't rip off the plaster we used to seal the wound on his ear, so I can't comment on the durability of this product. (I have a feeling any collar of that sort would have elicited the same reaction.) When he finally had surgery, we accidentally left the stitches to heal as we felt wearing the collar would be up for him would be too frustrating. operations. Luckily he didn't need a collar. If you need such a collar, I think this is a good product. My vet saw it too and said nothing bad.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Reliability
