Review on Custom Front Mud Guards Black for 2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma with OEM Fender Flares and Mud Guards - Husky Liners 56931 by James Lighting

Excellent quality material. Perfect balance between thickness, flexibility and surface friction. Feels durable and feels more like rubber unlike other custom made products which are thinner, harder plastic and smoother especially when wet. Great equipment including complete footrest cover on the driver's side and mat extensions on both sills. So why not 5 stars? I bought these for my 2008 Tacoma Access Cab (TRD sport package) and found that they don't fit very well on the driver's side. This mat has raised edges that essentially form a bowl for collecting liquids and debris (nice feature). The left edge, as mentioned, extends nicely up and into the door sill. However, there was a significant gap along the right edge where the mat should have met the car tunnel carpet (see attached photos). This crevice forms a hidden crevice where invisible debris can accumulate. I would almost prefer the lack of a raised edge rather than a non-visible space. In addition, there was an internal "fold" on the protruding edge next to the gas pedal. This crease was created when the mat was being laid and was due to the mat transitioning from a flat floor to a rising floor behind the pedals (see photo). The raised edge had no wrinkles when the entire mat lay flat on the outside of the car. Eventually, given the location of the pleats, this would allow for the collection of debris that would normally fall from a rider's shoes. The marketing claim on the website implies that this should fit perfectly, but it doesn't really fit my 2008 Tacoma (see photo). for a screenshot of the advertising statement). I suspect the fit wasn't perfect as sizing might be a compromise to cover such a wide range (2005 to 2011). The passenger side fits perfectly, although I wish the passenger side mat was higher on the sloping floor as many passengers stretch their legs. It would also be nice if the mounting holes in the mat matched the existing OEM holes instead of drilling new holes in the mat to attach the Husky supplied anchors. These are clearly the highest quality rugs I have ever had. managed to find. The material and performance are excellent and far superior to the original Toyota rubber floor mats. I wouldn't recommend these mats for a 2008 Tacoma, especially considering the retail price, but if there's a chance you have another car, then the Husky X-Act Contours might be worth the shot.
