Type of review

I put the tire in November 2022, to replace the worn IG35. After the operation of the IG35, there was a very negative atude towards the winter tire from Yokohama. Before that, I only rode Hakkapelita of various modifications. The last ones were Nordman. The spikes popped out like baby teeth. Reviewed a lot of tires. The choice fell on Pirelli Ice Zero, Yokohama IG 65, or on some budget China. In the store, a familiar seller convinced me to trust the Yokohama IG 65. OH YEAH! Tire without claims,

Pros
  • Soft tyre, with grippy studs across the ALL width of the tyre. Relatively quiet. Excellent grip on ice and packed snow. Not afraid of the rut. It conquers snow with dignity, although I think this is more the merit of the car (SUBARU Outback).
Cons
  • They come from merit. A large tering of spikes in the contact patch does not allow aggressive driving on dry asphalt.

The best I ever used, recommend it to everybody.

I bought it only yesterday, so it's too early to say, I liked the fact that even while the rolling is in progress, it does not make a wild noise. Very soft, speed bumps p on it perfectly (Peugeot 508 GT can not be called a standard for the softness of the suspension). Handling on the slope is good. In the future, when the snow falls and there is ice, I will definitely add a review. dated 11/21/18: So far, only pleasant impressions. I have already climbed both on ice and on ice-like snow - it…

Pros
  • Soft and not noisy
Cons
  • Not seen yet

Best thing for the money, glad I did it.

For the winter season, everything is running smoothly; looking ahead, I plan to update this with my thoughts after replacing the spikes in my shoes.

Pros
  • They're secure, aligned, and gorgeous to look at.
Cons
  • No

Good product for me, no problems at all.

I haven’t tried it on snowdrifts yet, it hasn’t applied yet. Really a lot of spikes. And there are fewer lamellas than on other winter ones. On frostbitten asphalt rulitsya almost like summer. I think it's the best for the city.

A practical product, nothing to complain about.

I will immediately warn you that we are talking about the size 285/45/22 I’ll warn you right away that the car is very quiet in the cabin from birth, so this may be the case, but nothing has changed in terms of acoustics compared to the summer - no noise appeared. Rubber made in Japan. Balanced with a minimum of weights.

Pros
  • Very quiet.
Cons
  • Haven't found it yet, let's see what happens when the snow falls.

It was a reasonable purchase, will order more.

The overall impact is negative. Goodyear's Ultra Grip Ice Arctic was preceded by the first generation. It's better for gripping asphalt and oatmeal, but it only lasted 5 years before it was completely worn out, lost half its spikes, and started getting beaten up, thus it was swapped out for Yokohama 65 instead. As the spikes were worn down, traction improved, but I still don't feel completely at ease in them, so I'll probably end up switching to a another pair.

Pros
  • Extremely quiet and well-equipped for icy conditions tires. All the spikes are in place at the end of the first season. In equilibrium, with the most active tires, stockpiles are typically recent.
Cons
  • The tread design isn't great. As can be observed in the wheel track, traction is poor on both oatmeal and asphalt due to the tiny center lamellae, which quickly become blocked with snow.

Average purchase, there is something to complain about.

Rides well only on asphalt, quiet. On mixed, snow and ice - . Unlike the Hakki 7, which behaved extremely predictably, and drove in winter like in summer, this average speed dropped by 20 km / h. There is no braking: abs grabs at every second intersection. It breaks into a skid abruptly, the breakdown point is not predicted at all. Haven't tried it in deep snow yet. Perhaps at least there it will be ok to dig. If the puncture is there. . . It would be better to take a Chinese noname.

Pros
  • Cheap relative to Hakkapelita
Cons
  • Sharply breaks into a skid. On ice it doesn't work like skating.

The best thing for the money, I'm glad I chose this option.

Bought in size 225/55/R18 November 2022. Issue August 2022. Gentle mode 500 km. For 5.5 months, ONE spike was lost. Out of town 20%, the rest of the city. Ice, rolled snow, fresh snow confidently and calmly, without heart attacks). Bare asphalt, mostly dry, noisy in the range of 60-80 km/h, then much quieter. The speed of 140-150 in the country holds very confidently without taxiing. Soft, up to +10 it is better to use them, they start to swim higher. They also float slightly in corners on wet…

Pros
  • Previously used brand products (still not disappointed)
Cons
  • Not marked

The product is average, Im not sure its worth the money.

I bought it from old memory, when it was Yokohama, I was satisfied. Now the dimension is 235/50/18, everything is fine, but the noise is some kind of nightmare. The run-in went as expected, without sudden starts / braking, the speed did not exceed. The noise didn't decrease at all. After a winter run of 4 t. Km - the noise is still the same. Before that, another car with worse sound insulation had Nordman 7 winter studded cars - they were much quieter. The only plus is that when I just changed…

Pros
  • Holds the road well.
Cons
  • NOISE!

A good and high-quality product, but there are disadvantages.

The quality is at a fairly good level, despite the fact that the production is 2022! Manageability is not worse than the Continental, which is rather very unexpected! Riding comfort at a high level, on the pavement is a very pleasant feeling! Looking forward to snow and ice!

Previously, there were Gislaveds, made not yet in 2022 - they were ideal tires, no more than 10% of the spikes flew out in 6 seasons, the rubber was as soft as when it was bought. After there were Pirelli Ice Zero, I cursed everything in the world. Noisy is not even the right word. At speed, they made such a rumble, as if a helicopter was taking off nearby. Withstood 3 hellish seasons on them, although in other respects they coped with their tasks. I chose for a long time, took Yokohama. In…

Pros
  • Not very noisy, the car behaves adequately both on ice and in loose snow.
Cons
  • Not revealed yet.

It so happened to me that the car slows down disgustingly on snow, slush and ice. Whether this is due to rubber or ABS settings - I don’t know, for q3 owners this is a common problem, so I put it in a comment. I’m unlikely to take the same one, simply because the next one I’ll try Velcro. Got pros: Good handling on different asphalt, price, spikes did not fall out after 1 season After running in - no noise, even more comfortable than summer at speeds up to 100 In general, for winters without…

The right product for me, the price suited me.

225/50/17 (issue 28 week 2022) The tires are brand new and have only driven 250 miles so far. (highway / city - 50/50) on asphalt at temperatures from -5 to +4 for two days with smooth acceleration and deceleration and a maximum speed of 70 km / h. (a couple of times and briefly up to 85 km / h). Tire pressure 2.5 (Ford S-Max) NOISE. For six seasons I rolled hakkapelita 5 (dimension 185/65/15) - there is such a rumble as if wheel bearings flew. There is also noise that is not annoying; at a…

Pros
  • Quiet, good hydroplaning resistance, number and placement of studs
Cons
  • Throws on a rut

I can't stop being happy with the purchase, a very good deal!

Yokohama Ice Guard IG65 - I took it after the studs of the same brand, so I have known Yokohama for a long time, I know what to expect from Japanese studs. I installed 65 at the end of October, just when the first cold weather began, and riding on summer tires was already threatening. Then - running, I think everyone knows how to do it. The final result of the season on these tires can only be done when changing to summer ones, in the spring, but I’m already looking closely, and what I see is…
