Not exactly half a sheet of sandpaper

As others have said, this requires custom sized sandpaper. To use half a sheet (as per description) you will need 3/4 inch extra sandpaper on each side (1.5 inch total). If you try to use a third sheet of sandpaper, the sander will be too long to wrap the sandpaper around the ends. This leaves you with a 3 inch strip.
