Review on 🌡️ EVGA mITX 92mm Sleeve ACX CPU Cooler 100-FS-C901-KR for Intel Socket 1150/1155/1156 - Direct Touch 4 Heat Pipe by Adam Tidd

I bought this 92mm EVGA mITX cooler to fit an EVGA Hadron Air Mini-ITX case on an EVGA Z97 Stinger LGA 1150 Mini-ITX motherboard. I thought by buying all EVGA components I could be sure of compatibility, but I was wrong. I wasn't able to screw the four legs of all these coolers to the LGA 1150 socket of a Z97 ITX motherboard. As other reviewers have reported, the four plastic mounting pins do not work properly. I ended up securing only 3 of the 4 corners after making several attempts to reinstall them outside of the case where I could work and view freely. I stopped trying for fear of damaging the motherboard due to the force exerted on the pistons. The rams should go through the mounting holes of the LGA 1150 like an Intel cooler. Having the cooler installed or removed from the top is a good idea, except the EVGA pistons don't snap in like the Intel pistons. You will need to physically inspect the back of the motherboard to see if the plungers are seated. I have always found that one or more of the pistons are not seated. My finished system works fine except this piece of heatsink is only hanging from 3 of the 4 plastic fasteners. I'm afraid of accidentally touching the case and I'm afraid of asymmetric compression of the processor chip. The design has a second serious problem. The fan is attached with cable ties that are difficult to detach or attach. Before installing the cooler, I decided to remove and replace the fan, which works completely freely outside the case. It was complicated. EVGA should look at the plastic fan mounting techniques used by some other manufacturers such as: B. the black / aluminum colored Enermax Cooling ETS-N30-HE. top and bottom of the cooler. Recommend EVGA to discontinue this product to avoid damaging its reputation until the redesign fixes these three issues.
