Well, now it's nice to have a solid body structure. When you're dealing with a motor this powerful, you need a metal body to make it feel secure in your hand. DETACHABLE BOTTOM: The bottom is metal, detachable, it can be washed easily and simply. I've had other hand blenders where the bottom was easier to clean, but that's because of the "active shaft". It's not that difficult to wash, though, so let's just say it's fine and worth it for the added feature. Most importantly, the base is metal so the heat of your soup or whatever doesn't stain or leach out of the plastic barrel like you see on other inexpensive ones. ACCESSORIES: The whisk is fine, a pretty standard accessory for any hand blender, nothing special, and the same goes for the mug. There is NO latch on the cutting bowl, which is very inconvenient. I have many of these bowls and they all have clasps and I would like to see one here. The lid of the bowl is tight so I think it will be ok but I would prefer a self-sealing lid. They gave the bowl a kind of "cool" wavy design that just makes it harder to see what you're mixing, so it's not cool. This package does not include the additional accessories that I need. A puree accessory that can "puree" cooked vegetables such as potatoes, tomatoes, plums, apples, etc. So if this sounds like something you're looking for, maybe check that out as well. Overall Rating: The blender is seriously impressive and feels like it should only be seen in a commercial kitchen. It looks like a professional tool and is not only functional but also beautiful. This is the largest hand blender I have ever owned. So if you're short on space, you might want to look at smaller options or fewer attachments.
