Ideal for making ice cubes in the garage fridge

We have a second refrigerator in the garage, mainly for storing drinks and frozen food. The garage doesn't have water hookup to use the ice maker and water spout that came with the fridge, but we regularly get 5 gallon bottled water from Poland Spring shipped to our home. This Flojet pump allows us to use 5 gallon bottles to power the ice maker and water cooler in our fridge. It connects easily and includes everything you need. The pump only turns on when needed, i.e. when you use ice cubes and the fridge starts making more ice. Since it's in the garage, I don't really care about the sound, but I don't find it too loud either - but as long as it runs for a short time you can definitely hear the pump running. Another nice thing about this setting is that the ice cubes are made from spring water, so you wouldn't mind having them in your drinks. I filter the tap water that feeds our fridge in the kitchen, but I'd like to use spring water there too. Switching out water bottles is easy too, thanks to the included hose and cap that you slip into 5-gallon bottles. The on-demand pump and all accessories appear to be well made and of higher quality than competing products, however I find the price a bit high so I'm deducting a star. This system should be between $60 and $75, not the $120 I paid for it. However, I expect it will run for many years without maintenance and cheaper competing products seem to have reliability issues.

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • I have no negative feelings about it, everything is fine
