Review on ๐ŸŒก๏ธ UEi Test Instruments DT302 Dual Input IP67 Digital Logging Thermometer: High-Performance and Rugged Design in Vibrant Yellow by Corey Moulton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works well but has to jump through some hurdles to get the PC software to work on Windows 8.1 64 bit.

Temperature gauge works fairly well. I wanted this because I needed four channels and I also wanted to somehow store the data on the PC and view it in real time when needed. The software they have is quite old, you've probably read about it by now, but it works on Win8.1 64 bit. You are using a Microchip brand device in the meter for USB communications and you need to download the latest mchpcdc.inf driver, just search for it and you should be able to find the installer. You cannot just install this driver directly as it is also old and unsigned. So look for how to install unsigned drivers in Windows 8.1 and follow the instructions. After installing the driver, connect the temperature sensor to your PC's USB port. It recognizes it as a COM port. I had to tell Windows to use the driver I just installed by manually pointing to it. Now everything works. If you just want plug and play, it won't be that easy with new versions of Windows, but it works.

Pros
  • Dual thermocouple input from Type J, K, T and E probes
Cons
  • No instructions
