The device appears to work well but it is cumbersome and takes some time to learn the controls and settings as they are not intuitive. Worst of all, however, is the software used to download and plot the data. It feels clunky and primitive, like 20-year-old software. I expect a lot more design for my money. This is not modern technology.

I'm a clinical scientist and need to do my own temperature experiments before developing expensive third party protocols or clinical trials. This device with the appropriate sensors helps me and works perfectly, including the software. It was easy to transfer the data to my computer and view the data as well.

I AM BRAND NEW TO MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS SPECIFIC DUAL TEMPERATURE GAUGE. IT REMAINS PRECISION AND HAS A ROBUST CONSTRUCTION. I RECOMMEND THIS FOR BOTH THE HOT SIDE AND THE COLD SIDE, EXCEPT FOR THE THERMOCOUPLE WHICH ARE SUPPLIED WITH THE PRODUCT. MEASURING THE TEMPERATURE ON THE HOT SIDE REQUIRES A THERMOCOUPLE WITH MORE EFFICIENT TEMPERATURES. THE METER ITSELF IS A DEFINITE PLUS.

Good device for the money. Cheaper than most others I've found that support many sensor types and 4 inputs. The logging features are limited but effective for our needs. Scrolling features are limited but can be used. The software looks good, but the first thing you need to do is download the logs and put them in an Excel spreadsheet. Temperature gauge works fairly well. I wanted this because I needed four channels and I also wanted to somehow store the data on the PC and view it in real time when needed. The software they have is quite old, you've probably read about it by now, but it works on Win8.1 64 bit. You are using a Microchip brand device in the meter for USB communications and you need to download the latest mchpcdc.inf driver, just search for it and you should be able to find the installer. Liked with this thermometer, almost want to get a four channel model. The included thermocouples are pretty crappy, but accurate. I use it with some Fluke Pipeclamp probes and it works reliably. I wish it had a magnetic back so it could stick to condenser units (I work in HVAC) so it gets a lot of use!
