Review on 🌑️ UEi Test Instruments DT302 Dual Input IP67 Digital Logging Thermometer: High-Performance and Rugged Design in Vibrant Yellow by Brent Borseth

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good thermometer for testing, measuring and checking

Liked with this thermometer, almost want to get a four channel model. The included thermocouples are pretty crappy, but accurate. I use it with some Fluke Pipeclamp probes and it works reliably. I wish it had a magnetic back so it could stick to condenser units (I work in HVAC) so it gets a lot of use! I will definitely buy this product again, the seller sent quickly. 6 months later and it's still working fine. TECHNICAL NOTE: I purchased this for AC and heating work along with a pair of Fluke 80PK-8 Type K Thermocouple Temperature Probes with Pipe Clamp). This combination works very well (wish I had 4 UEI channels). I've noticed a phenomenon that I want to share, if the system you're testing is conductive and you use both sensors (I use clamp sensors) (boiler flow/return or AC intake/exhaust) you'll get a weird offset -See temperature when both are connected. I got around this with a layer of teflon tape under one of the probes (around the tube). The teflon is thin enough to transfer heat well and insulating enough (electrically) to prevent the weird shifting effect.

Pros
  • Temperature range -346 to +2192 degrees Fahrenheit (J), Temperature range -328 to +2498 degrees Fahrenheit (K)
Cons
  • Unfashionable
