This heated mattress topper warms well, and that's perhaps its only advantage. Almost the entire side of the cover didn't have a second row of stitching, which apparently should be normal. It was still strong, but I knew the coating would lose strength over time. This coating is soft to the touch but not very pliable. I have a favorite airbed that I keep at 35, and on top of that I also have a 2 1/2" thick memory foam cover. I didn't realize it when I put it on the bed, but I did "that my nice soft bed was like a trampoline when I lay down. I tried to let some air out of my mattress so I put it on setting 15 but it still didn't matter. Even when I removed the cover took off the corners and just put it on the bed it was still firm but better if you want your bed to be firm you will probably love this mattress topper however if you want your bed to be soft buy it Don't I think if you had a bed that you felt was too soft and didn't want to pay money to replace the mattress, you could actually get this cover, rip it up and make the overly soft bed firmer ?
