Send this kettle back. Although the lid seems to fit snugly and snaps into place, steam escapes in multiple places around the lid as the water boils. Upon closer inspection, we could see spots where the lid and kettle don't match. Kettles are designed to direct steam out the spout and not around the lid where it heats the handle and causes safety issues. There is also a small scratch on the paintwork around the button on the cover. On the plus side, this is a nice kettle with a large capacity (3 litres).
