Growing up on a farm, I learned early on that you need the right tool for the right job. And that the quality of the instrument mattered. My dad was a fan of Craftsman because they made a good tool at an affordable price. The tool market has changed a lot since then and with many unknown tool manufacturers on the market you have to judge a tool by its quality and performance. So far I'm pretty impressed with this toolbox; They are made of nickel and chrome steel. They're hard to hold, but not too hard. The adjustable vise (pliers) was the first tool I used and I was expecting it to be a bit heavier, but for a 10" vise I think it's about right. It has worked for every task I've used it on. OK. The handle grips firmly and releases easily. The 8-inch adjustable wrench feels heavier when you pick it up, and the adjustment mechanism tightens fairly well, although there is some play. The other three tools (6-inch needle nose pliers, 8-inch slotted pliers, and 8-inch pliers) feel heavy enough to handle all the small jobs I've used them for. They have a plastic coating on the handle that makes them easier to grip. So yeah, I like these five tools and I'm going to put them in my main tool box. They worked fine the first time I used them. However, usage over time is what really defines their quality. I will update the rating if these tools break or degrade too quickly. But for now they deserve 5 stars and are good for home use and light renovation or repair work.
