I figured it would work for a standard pine quarter around my kitchen island. I tested several times on an old piece of wood about 1 inch thick and none of the 1.25 inch diameter pins went flush with the board. I decided to try this in my quarter turn and ran into the same problem. When I tried hammering in the rest of the bar with a set of nails, they just bent - of course I have to remove them and start over. I'm not sure if he just didn't have enough power to shoot through the quarter round and the floor of the kitchen island.
