Does Actually Stick to One Thing

Bought this for my 2 1/2 year old son. He adores it. I also purchased some sand molds but those were mainly pointless. The sand is too "hard" to really press clear shapes into so you have to pack the sand into the mold and then dump it out. He's too young to really be into that and the sand doesn't hold together enough to be able to handle anything you make with a mold. He mainly likes driving his trucks around in it and making "roads." I really love the feel of it as well. It's fun and cathartic to play with. It does actually stick to something. silicone. We have several silicone teething toys for our younger son (8 months) as well as silicone cooking utensils and several times the older as taken the younger's toy into the sand and it sticks like crazy. You have to wash it to get it off. Otherwise, it doesn't stick to things and is easy to clean up. Doesn't dry out like playdoh and my son has spent hours and hours playing with it for weeks now. The color doesn't transfer or stain either. Definitely worth the money if you have an active kid cooped up inside!

Pros
  • Provides tactile stimulation for children with sensory processing disorders
Cons
  • The sand may not have a pleasant smell
