I bought another shirt like this for Christmas and was sure I would it is true to size on Wednesday; it wasn't. returned. Bought this large for my husband's birthday and it's perfect. He's really medium height but wears it as an overshirt for warmth. If you wear a medium size I'd buy it large anyways, bonus - this one was half the price of the first one And washed and dried without a single wrinkle.
