Worth every penny!

, I wanted to raise it a bit to achieve two things: 1) really make my 4x4 look like this (come on, the GM.Z71 was big enough as a standard pickup) and 2) my 285/75/ 16 (33) from friction (this kit achieved the third goal by including shock absorbers replacing the 12 year old originals). So as a bonus I swapped out the dampers. Nice. Now let me get a few things straight. 1) You don't need a "torsion bar removal tool" but I've seen it be safer. I ordered it but returned it to Revain after reading the instructions included in the kit (under Required Tools a ball joint remover such as OTC 7249 is recommended which you can rent from Autozone for a $100 deposit and you will get it back if that tool is returned). . I used a ball joint puller but it wanted to slip out under pressure so I improvised. The cross member that holds the torsion wedges has a hole at the top which is conveniently located right where you installed the ball joint puller. I simply inserted a short screwdriver into the BJR's hole and the short shank went into that hole on the crossbar (this locked the top of the BJR in place and prevented it from slipping off). The rest was nothing. Simply twist the wrench to remove the bolt/nut/wrench assembly and reinsert the new wrench. Then flip it over to install new keys. Just. 2) The Required Tools section says you need an 18mm head (adjust screw with torsion wrench) and a 21mm head (shock absorber/u-bolt), which is true. What isn't mentioned is the 22mm socket for the new U-bolt nuts. 3) The new blocks have a nipple that needs to be lined up with the hole on the axle bracket (also the new blocks are tapered to keep the front of the car shorter). than the back). 3a) Instructions for removing wheels, shock absorbers etc. SAVE TIME AND DO IT IN THE REAR. **Crawl under the bed on a flat surface and remove the U-bolts on one side and the shock absorber. Take the jack and place it just below the leaf spring. Raise the leaf spring until the gap is large enough to insert the block. Lower leaf spring, install new U-bolts and tighten. Repeat on the other side. Seriously, it takes about 15-20 minutes with an impact wrench. 4) As for the ride. Well I can't tell much of a difference other than that it rather has better dampers to make it stiffer. I don't find it rude in any way. only harder. Is it a shock or is it a rougher ride? I don't know, but I'll take it. 5) This set does not include anti-impact boots. For your information. Hey, I hope this helps you "pull the trigger" on this kit. I am very happy with the new look of my old pickup. I wish I had done that sooner. This is an everyday/family truck so don't expect this lift to fulfill your monster truck ambitions. Time will tell if there will be any issues with the new CV angles, but parts geek. com sells them for $54 so I'm not too worried. Enjoy your new position.
