To prevent my 3 dogs from running and barking at the neighbors and to prevent the neighbor's dog from standing by the fence and barking at me. Two of my three dogs, one small lab mix, the other dachshund mix, continue to bark without noticing the device. The smallest of my three, a Yorkie, was so traumatized by the first sound that she tucked her tail, flattened her ears and hid under my desk for more than a day. The neighbor's dog bothered me the most. , a two to three year old Border Collie. The device was literally hanging 1 foot above his head and less than 6 inches from his face, and he barked and barked and barked and barked even on setting number three. Yes, the device seems to be working correctly: the green light comes on when I turn it on and the red light flashes when the device is picking up barking sounds. Also, I could hear a high-pitched tone on the third level, and the ad said it was indistinguishable and imperceptible to the human ear, but I definitely hear it. Even on the highest settings, it didn't harm the neighbor's dog in the slightest. I won't be returning it or asking for a refund as my mum has a medium sized neighbors dog she's keen to try this out with so I'll pass it along to her. But I would not recommend this product and will not buy it again.
